Despite the bad weather at Bingara, New South Wales over the June long weekend, the 2021 Myall Creek Massacre memorial ceremony went ahead.

Sophie Scanlon, NBN News, 13 June 2021, reported on the ceremony in her story, ‘The 28 lives lost were remembered at the annual Myall Creek Massacre Commemoration’. Read more and watch the video that highlights how descendants, of those who died and of the perpetrators, have been able to come together to commemorate the lives of the 28 Wirrayaraay people who were murdered in an unprovoked attack on the slopes of a ridge on Myall Creek Station on 10 June 1838:

Guest speaker at the ceremony was Professor Lyndall Ryan, joint editor with Professor Jane Lydon of Remembering the Myall Creek Massacre, published by New South Books in 2018.
